Korea's VAT refund system can save tourists a meaningful amount of money — yet many visitors leave without claiming it, simply because the process feels confusing or unclear. K-Tax Refund Pro was built to change that.
Our goal is simple: give every international tourist — regardless of language or familiarity with Korean systems — a clear, free, and accurate resource to understand and complete their tax refund.
K-Tax Refund Pro was created by an independent developer based in Korea who noticed that most tax refund resources online were either outdated, only available in Korean, or buried inside tourism agency websites that were hard to navigate.
The goal was to build something simple, fast, and genuinely useful — a tool that a tourist standing in Myeongdong could open on their phone and immediately understand, in their own language.
Korea's VAT refund rules, minimum purchase thresholds, and operator fee structures change periodically. We review and update all content on this site at least twice per year, and immediately after any major policy change announced by the Korea Customs Service or major refund operators (Global Blue, Global Tax Free, NICE Tax Free).
The refund rate calculator uses fee tables based on the most recent published rates from each major operator. Exchange rates are fetched in real time from a public API, with fallback values updated monthly.
