🧾 Korea Tax Refund

The 3-Minute Quick Guide
🧳 Quick Checklist Passport · Original Receipts · Refund Forms · Credit Card (for deposit)
1
Shop at Tax-Free Stores
  • Look for Logos: Check for logos like Global Blue, Global Tax Free, or Easy Tax at the entrance or near the cashier. Refunds are only available at authorized tax-free shops showing these logos.
  • Minimum Purchase: You must spend at least ₩15,000 at a single store to be eligible.
  • Get the Form: Show your passport and ask for a "Tax Refund form" at checkout. Keep the form and receipt safely — you'll need both.

Choose Your Refund Method
  • City Refund (Recommended): Get cash instantly at major spots like Myeongdong Tourist Info Center (1F, KEB Hana Bank Annex), Doota Mall, or self-service kiosks throughout the city. ※ A credit card deposit is held and released after your airport scan.
📍 Find nearby refund desks on the map
  • Airport Refund: Claim at Incheon Airport on departure day. Required for purchases over ₩1,000,000 per receipt.
⚠️ Crucial: Even if you get cash in the city, you MUST scan your documents at the airport before leaving Korea!
3
At the Airport (Departure Day)
  • Under ₩75,000 per receipt: Scan your passport and forms at the self-service kiosk after immigration (Gate 28 for T1, Gates 249–253 for T2).
  • Over ₩75,000 per receipt: Visit the Customs Desk BEFORE checking in your bags. Officers may want to inspect the actual items.
  • Final Step: Collect your cash at the refund booth near the kiosks. Or wait for a credit card refund (2–4 weeks).
Already got a city refund? Just scan your passport + forms at the airport kiosk — takes under 2 minutes. Your card deposit will be released automatically.
